Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment
Traditional Osteopathic diagnosis and treatment is integral to our approach. Osteopaths, or DO's, examine the body as one interconnected system. With a deep understanding of the human body, Dr Montanaro is able to identify strain patterns throughout the neuromusculoskeletal system and perform hands-on manipulation to set the body back into balance.
Osteopathy operatives on a few principles:
1. A person is a combination of body–mind–spirit, and all three must be in balance for optimal well-being
2. The body possesses a system of self-regulation and self-healing
3. Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated
During your visit, Dr Montanaro may perform Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT), a body manipulation technique used to identify and treat musculoskeletal conditions or strain. He has special expertise in locating and diagnosing patterns of injury, and treats the body-mind as an interconnected system that has the innate ability to re-establish equilibrium. Many of our therapies layer symbiotically with OMT to work towards the ultimate goal of whole-body wellness.
